What's the Problem?
The loss of biodiversity is negatively affecting our planet and the way we live. The global agenda is taking action to promote sustainable models, paving the way towards a nature-positive economy. The main challenge that nature markets face today is the ability to measure and monitor biodiversity accurately, efficiently, and in an integrated manner to validate increases in biodiversity. This is due to the great diversity of organisms and their interactions with the environment and climate at different spatial and temporal scales. Currently, to approximate biodiversity, we need many experts from various disciplines and prolonged evaluation times, resulting in high costs and limited outcomes.
How are they Solving it?
We offer a solution based on a monitoring system that integrates environmental metagenomics, satellite-based monitoring, climate, and environmental chemistry into a single intelligent platform. After 15 years of research and biodiversity management, we address this issue by creating an Environmental Monitoring Center in a biodiversity hotspot, measuring with traditional and high-tech methods while simultaneously restoring nature. We monitor biodiversity by involving over 100 scientists, discovering new species, and sequencing the DNA of thousands of them, creating a long-term nature baseline. This allows us to develop a simplified, efficient monitoring methodology that is up to 40% more cost-effective.
